There was a period of my life where I felt like I was doing everything I was supposed to be doing, but inside I was struggling constantly. I was going to work, answering texts, showing up for people, and most people probably had no idea how anxious and overwhelmed I felt.
For a long time, I thought I just needed to push through it. Eventually I realized that pretending I was fine was actually making things harder. Talking about what I was feeling and letting a few people in made a bigger difference than I expected.
I still have difficult days, but I understand myself better now. I think one of the biggest things I learned is that someone can look completely okay on the outside and still be having a really hard time.
